Sora-My Girl's Ex. Ending

Sora’s P.O.V.

All of it was so long ago. Two years to be exact.

They’ve been the best two years of my life. Kairi and I had gotten together, and have been together ever since. She’s everything I’ve ever wanted, everything I’ve ever needed.

Riku graduated last year, and he finally realized what he had actually lost. You could see the fear on his face, once he understood that no one even comes close to her. No one comes close to how great she is.

He went through his slew of other girls; the girls he thought were better than her. None of them were. All of them, including Selphie, were just acceptable. Not exceptional. He understood that if it wasn’t for him, for his stupid mistake, he’d be as happy as me. He’d have Kairi.

I lean up against the big oak tree, my hands in my pockets, and look up at the sky. I’m pretty dang lucky to have someone like her.

“Sora!” I hear her voice, and I look to find her running up to me and smiling.

“Hey Kai.” I stare at her for a moment, taking in her beauty. She hasn’t changed a bit. Still Kairi. Still my Kairi.

I slowly walk up to her, and wrap my arms around her, holding her tight. I hold the back of her head with my hand, pulling her closer to me. I kiss the top of her hair, smiling.

I feel sorry for him. Poor guy had the world, but he thought that he wanted more.

In a way, I owe it to him. If it wasn’t for him, for his mistake, I wouldn’t have ever been able to be with her. I might have even lost her completely. I would still be searching aimlessly, not knowing that I was made for her.

“I…I’m falling for you… Sora.”

She looks up at me questionably, though pleased. “What was that for?”

I smile, and lift up her chin with my finger, and kiss her. Really, truly, kiss her.

Our lips move in unison and her arms wrap around my neck, and pull me closer to her. One of my hands still holds the back of her head, while the other falls down to her waist, her mouth the sweet taste of spearmint.

After a while we our lips parted, and automatically lifted into a smile.

He’s someone I’d hate to be. I’ve got her, and he’s just left with the memories.

I stare into her blue eyes, surrounded by long jet black lashes, her auburn red hair blowing in the wind. I tuck a loose strand behind her ear and she smiles; even blushes a bit.

She is the world. She’s my world.

“This goes without saying… But, I love you too…”

“I love you, Kairi…” I whisper and pull her close to me once more.

“I love you too…” She speaks softly into my chest.

It will stay that way, no matter what…
